#WritingBoss

I have over 25 years of teaching experience helping people (teenagers, adults, students, teachers, non-writers, and writers) write and write well. I’ve also made myself write several books, so let me boss you into some writing. Some services I offer:

  1. Writing Boss Private Sessions - We meet for an hour remotely or in person if possible and I make you write. If we commit to a longer relationship, I also design special prompts for you based on your project, and give homework assignments and light feedback.

  2. Memory/Memoir Work Session - We meet for an hour remotely or in person if possible and I help you remember your past and write pieces and parts of your memoir.

  3. Manuscript Consultation - I read your manuscript and provide you with an editorial letter at the end and some light marginalia throughout. No copy editing.

  4. Agent Boot Camp - I guide you through the querying process, provide you with my sample query letter, a plan for figuring out who to query, and help with staying the course. Depending on interest this might run as a course or individually.

Jump over to my contact page on this site and drop me an email if you’ d like to hire me. My availability fluctuates depending on my teaching, writing, momming, and other clients, but I’d love to hear from you and get you writing!

Testimonials

“I love your approach to write bossing—centering playful exploration through various exercises/prompts (bite sized to full on meal) that lead to deeper, more poetic, more visual writing (for me anyway). You helped me move past some of my pitfalls—over thinking and being too focused on plot too soon in the process—and helped me tap into writing that felt more emotional, true and expressive. And it’s fun to be (write) bossed around too!” - Jason Nunes, Therapist, Musician, and User Experience Designer

“It’s really worth the money and the time. Carley Moore sat me down and gave me some good time constraints and the idea was that there were no ifs, ands, or buts, and you just do the thing in 45 minutes. I did it! I made a beautiful piece of music and I couldn’t have done it without Carley’s care and compassion during this session.” - Keith Fullerton Whitman, Composer and Performer

“Carley’s generative feedback is helping me adapt my writing and develop my strengths to meet the demands of a new genre. Her observations are encouraging and specific, and when I read her comments I immediately want to roll up my sleeves and start revising.” - BK Fischer, Poet and Teacher
